COOKING
Despite the name, this variety is thought to originate from Underbarrow, Westmorland sometime prior to 1950. Mid season cooker, pick end September for use in October. Trees moderately vigorous, spreading, possibly triploid. Good disease resistance. Fruit large with attractive bright red stripey flush. Flesh soft, slightly coarse. Slightly rich flavour but rather bland when cooked.
