Ribston Pippin

JUICE

Ribston Pippin is almost certainly the mother of the world renowned Orange Pippin. It is perhaps more robust and less refined, highly aromatic, sharp and sweet and has its origins in the early eighteenth century. The Ribston Pippin's parentage may likely be traced back to seedlings brought over from Rouen in France and grown at Ribston Hall in Yorkshire. In appearance, its apples closely resemble the Orange Pippin, but are fuller and rounder in shape. They have red and russet streaks over waxy green skin and fine textured, cream coloured flesh.
