Raised 1940 by John Hugget in Grange-over-Sands from an Allington Pippin cross. Pick August/September for use through October when it sweetens to a dessert apple. Trees are moderately vigorous. Fruit medium to large sized, red over yellow. Flesh sweet and rich. Cooks to pale cream puree, sweet and rich with lots of flavour.
